“Delhi State Legal Services Authority collaborated as Principal partner in National Level Suggestion competition on the topic “Prevention of Violence against Women in Society” organized on 03.03.2024 at The Park Hotel by Bhagidari Jan Sahyog Samiti, NGO & other stakeholders.
Sh. Mukesh Kumar Gupta, Member Secretary, DSLSA was invited as Chief Guest in the said event alongwith other Ld. Dignitaries. He addressed the participants and shared his valuable insights on legal issues related to women. The event was informative and attended by Social activists, various academicians.”
Delhi State Legal Services Authority initiated a week long Project “मशाल- नारी सशक्तिकरण की ओर”
As we know “Literate women make better mothers”, so if a women is aware about her legal rights it will benefit the whole family and will make the whole society grow, thereby, to commemorate International Women’s Day 2024, Delhi State Legal Services Authority initiated a week long Project “मशाल- नारी सशक्तिकरण की ओर” w.e.f 01st to 07th March, 2024.
DSLSA in association with Indian Medical Association (IMA), New Delhi, Central -II DLSA, inaugurated the above said project on 02.03.2024 at 03:15 PM. The programme started with the unveiling of Information Board of DSLSA by Sh. Sanjay Garg, Ld. Principal District & Sessions Judge, New Delhi District, Patiala House Courts, & Chairperson, New Delhi DLSA, Ms. Anju Bajaj Chandana, Ld. Principal District & Sessions Judge-cum-Spl. Judge (PC-ACT), CBI, Rouse Avenue District Courts, Sh. Mukesh Kumar Gupta, Ld. Member Secretary, DSLSA, Sh. Naveen Gupta, Ld. Special Secretary, DSLSA, Sh. Vinay Aggarwal, Chairman, Action Committee & former President, I.M.A and other Ld. Dignitaries. Thereafter, Hon’ble dignitaries inaugurated the Project by unveiling a Video on the activities proposed to be carried out during this week long programme.

In the event, Ms. Basanti, Acid Attack Survivor and Ms. Farah, Para Legal Volunteer narrated their own stories including hardships faced by them in life and how they overcome them with the help of DSLSA. Ms. Anju Bajaj Chandana, Ld. Principal District & Sessions Judge-cum-Spl. Judge (PC-ACT), CBI, Rouse Avenue District Courts addressed the participants and motivated them to become self-reliant. To recognize & appreciate the commendable work done by LSAs and PLVs associated with DLSAs on women related issues, certificates of excellence were awarded to LSAs and PLVs. Sh. Sanjay Garg, Ld. Principal District & Sessions Judge, New Delhi District, Patiala House Courts, & Chairperson, New Delhi DLSA delivered the keynote address.
On this occasion, Sh. Mridul Gupta, Ld. Additional Secretary, DSLSA and Ld. Secretaries, DLSAs were also present. Ms. Jyoti Maheshwari, Ld. Secretary South DLSA hosted the programme and Ms. Richika Tyagi, Ld. Secretary, Central-II, DLSA delivered the vote of thanks.
The program was attended by doctors, Legal Services Advocates, Para Legal Volunteers and representatives from various NGOs. The event was LIVE streamed on You-Tube channel of DSLSA.
22.02.2024: Certificate Course on Legal Literacy, Awareness and Aid (third batch)
In the next session of Certificate course on Legal Literacy, Awareness and Aid in collaboration with Daulat Ram College, Sh. Anshul Singhal, Ld. Secretary, Shahdara DLSA delivered the session on the topic “Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace” with the aid of powerpoint presentation.
All the queries raised by the students were resolved by the Resource person.”

“DSLSA organized the inauguration ceremony of the newly established Legal Aid Defence Counsel System for North and North West DLSA on 26.02.2024 at Rohini Courts, New Delhi.
Hon’ble Mr. Justice Manmohan, Acting Chief Justice, High Court of Delhi/Hon’ble Executive Chairman, DSLSA graced the occasion as Chief Guest and inaugurated the newly established Legal Aid Defence Counsel System in the august presence of Hon’ble Ms. Justice Rekha Palli, Judge, High Court of Delhi & Chairperson, Building Maintenance & Construction Committee (BMCC) as Guest of Honour, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Rajnish Bhatnagar, Judge, High Court of Delhi & Member, BMCC, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Amit Bansal, Judge, High Court of Delhi & Member, BMCC, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ravinder Dudeja, Judge, High Court of Delhi & Member, BMCC and other Hon’ble Judges of the High Court of Delhi, Sh. Mukesh Kumar Gupta, Ld. Member Secretary, DSLSA, Sh. Naveen Gupta, Ld. Special Secretary, DSLSA, Sh. Mridul Gupta, Ld. Additional Secretary, DSLSA and other esteemed dignitaries.
Under this initiative, DSLSA shall provide easy access for seeking legal aid in criminal matters by common man likewise the Legal Aid Defence Counsel Systems already functional at South West, South and South East DLSAs.”

A Powerpoint presentation was also shown to all the participants for quick and effective understanding. All the queries raised by the students were resolved by the Resource person.”
Training Programme for Ld. Principal Magistrates and Members of all Juvenile Justice Boards
“Delhi State Legal Services Authority organized a half day Training Programme for Ld. Principal Magistrates and Members of all Juvenile Justice Boards (JJBs) on 21.02.2024 from 02:30 pm onwards at Conference Hall, third floor, Central Office, DSLSA.
Sh. Naveen Gupta, Ld. Special Secretary, DSLSA and Sh. Abhinav Pandey, Ld. Secretary (Litigation), DSLSA welcomed all the participants and briefed all attendees about the objective behind this training programme. Thereafter, various aspects in respect to the Juveniles were discussed.
Ms. Vaidehi Subramani, Ex Chairperson, CWC-II was the first resource person who delivered the session on the topic “Rehabilitation & Reintegration of Vulnerable Children”. Thereafter, Ms. Priyanka Rajpoot, Ld. ACMM-04, Rouse Avenue District Courts was the second resource person of the day and she delivered the session on the topic “Juvenile Justice: Addressing issues of age inquiry & preliminary assessment”. A Powerpoint presentation was also shown for effective understanding. During the session, all the queries or issues raised by the attendees were resolved by the Ld. Resource persons.

National Institute of Public Cooperation & Child Development (NIPCCD), New Delhi organized an offline Training Programme on Implementation of POCSO Act and its Amendment Act: Addressing Gaps and Challenges for Multi Stakeholders (19th-21st February, 2024) at 5, Siri Institutional Area, Hauz Khas, New Delhi.
On request of NIPCCD for deputing a resource person, Ms. Jyoti Maheshwari, Ld. Secretary, South DLSA was nominated to deliver the session on the topic “Support Services: Compensation to Children Affected by Sexual Offences” on 20.02.2024 in the above said training programme. A PowerPoint presentation was also shown for better explanation and understanding. The session was very informative and all the queries raised by the participants were addressed by the Resource Person.”

DSLSA, in collaboration with Daulat Ram College and Central DLSA inaugurated the newly established Legal Services Clinic at the premises of the College on 20.02.2024. The unveiling of Information Board of DSLSA was also held on the occasion.
The programme began with the lighting of lamp by esteemed dignitaries followed by cultural performance. Prof. Savita Roy, Principal, Daulat Ram College gave the welcome address. Thereafter, Ms. Helly Fur Kaur, Secretary, Central DLSA gave introductory remarks. The presidential address was given by Sh. Mukesh Kumar Gupta, Ld. Member Secretary, DSLSA. He motivated the participants with his words of wisdom and also made them aware about the Free Legal Services as envisaged in the Legal Services Authority Act, 1987 and 24*7 helpline number of this Authority. Sh. Mukesh Kumar Gupta, Ld. Member Secretary, DSLSA also emphasized on the significance and importance of legal literacy in one’s life and how this knowledge can bring changes in their lives.
At the end of the Programme, Dr. Sonia Mehta, Course Coordinator, Daulat Ram College expressed gratitude to the Authority for this initiative and proceeded with vote of thanks.
