On 27th January, 2025, 7 newly appointed Judicial Officers of Delhi Judicial Service (DJS) visited Delhi State Legal Services Authority for understanding its functions and functioning as a part of their training in Delhi Judicial Academy, Dwarka, Delhi. Accordingly this Authority organized a Training Programme at Conference Hall, Central Office, 3rd Floor, Rouse Avenue District Court Complex , New Delhi from 10:30AM onwards.

Sh. Rajeev Bansal, Ld. Member Secretary, DSLSA and Sh. Naveen Gupta, Ld. Special Secretary, DSLSA interacted with the Trainee Judicial Officers and delivered the session on the topic “Introduction to Legal Services Authority Act, 1987”. Sh. Mridul Gupta, Ld. Additional Secretary, DSLSA delivered the session on the topic “Understanding the function & functioning of DSLSA/DLSAs. PowerPoint presentation related to the topic made both the sessions more interactive & informative. Sh. Abhinav Pandey, Ld. Secretary (Litigation), DSLSA delivered the session on the topic “Working of Delhi Victims’ Compensation Scheme-2018”. PPT was also shown for quick and better understanding.

Thereafter, all the trainee judicial officers were attached with different DLSAs for further visits & exposure to the working of DLSAs and their field activities.

Delhi State Legal Services Authority organised half day Capacity Building Programme for the newly empanelled Advocates of Centralized Panel & Specialised Panels viz. DST, AFT, CAT, NCLT, DRT and NCDRC of DSLSA at Nyaya Manch Auditorium, 1st Floor, Rouse Avenue District Courts, New Delhi on 21st January, 2025

Sh. Rajeev Bansal, Ld. Member Secretary, DSLSA, Sh. Naveen Gupta, Ld. Special Secretary, DSLSA and Sh. Abhinav Pandey, Ld. Secretary (Litigation), DSLSA interacted with the participants and explained the entire motive behind the training programme. Ld. Resource persons also delivered the session on the topic “Overview of Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 with special emphasis on “Roles & Responsibilities of Legal Services Advocates”. Short videos related to the topic were also showcased for better and effective understanding.

Thereafter, Ms. Sonia, Sr. Programmer, DSLSA explained the ways of operating the Legal Services Management portal step by step and also resolved the queries of the participants related to the functioning of the portal.

Last session of the training programme was taken up by Sh. Mridul Gupta, Ld. Additional Secretary, DSLSA who delivered the informative session on the topic “NALSA toll free helpline number portal (https://nalsa15100.in)”. Thereafter, Ms. Meenakshi Sharma, Hindi Translator, DSLSA apprise the participants about the working of NYAY SANYOG, Front Office, DSLSA and toll free helpline number 1516 of DSLSA.

Para Legal Volunteers play a critical role in supporting and assisting with various tasks that enhance the accessibility of legal services. To ensure they are prepared for their responsibilities and remain effective in their roles, refresher training is essential. DSLSA organized a half day Refresher Para Legal Volunteer (PLV) Training Programme on 14th January, 2025 at Nyay Manch Auditorium, 1st floor, Rouse Avenue District Courts.

The session was conducted for the Community PLVs as well as Law students attached with North East, Shahdara, East, South East, South, North West and West as PLVs whose tenure had expired and are willing to work further as a Para Legal Volunteer.

Sh. Rajeev Bansal, Ld. Member Secretary, DSLSA delivered the Introductory Session and explained the motive behind this refresher training programme. He also appreciated their zeal to work as a volunteer of this Authority.

Sh. Naveen Gupta, Ld. Special Secretary, DSLSA briefed the participants about Do’s and Don’ts for PLVs. He also showed Powerpoint presentation for quick and effective understanding.

Thereafter, Sh. Mridul Gupta, Ld. Additional Secretary, DSLSA and Sh. Abhinav Pandey, Ld. Secretary (Litigation), DSLSA delivered the sessioin on “Re-visiting of basic laws with special emphasis on the legal rights relating to Women, Children and Sr. Citizen etc. The session was very informative with frequent questions answers making it interactive. Queries of participants were also resolved by the Resource persons.

Senior Citizens Council of Delhi organized an interaction-cum-recreational program for their members on 14.01.2024 from 03:00 PM onwards at Recreation Centre, Community Centre, Green Park Extension.

On this occasion, Sh. Rajeev Bansal, Ld. Member Secretary, DSLSA was invited as a Chief Guest of program. During his interaction with Senior Citizens, Ld. Member Secretary, DSLSA made them aware about the functions and functioning of this Authority as well as about the helpline numbers of DSLSA & NALSA. He also apprised the participants regarding various welfare schemes for Senior Citizens.

As a part of recreational activity, cake cutting ceremony, for the senior citizens whose birthdays are falling in this month, was also organized. Ld. Member Secretary, DSLSA congratulated and wished them a healthy and happy life ahead.

With an objective to make the law students aware about the function and functioning of Legal Services Institutions and as well as Government Institutions of legal importance including Courts, Jails, Police Stations, Juvenile Justice Boards, Child Welfare Committees etc., Delhi State Legal Services Authority commenced Winter Internship Programme 2024-25 from 10th January, 2025. The Orientation Program of the said Winter Internship was organized in Nyay Manch Auditorium, First Floor, Rouse Avenue District Court Complex, New Delhi.

Sh. Rajeev Bansal, Ld. Member Secretary, DSLSA delivered the Welcome Address and interacted with the interns and motivated them with his words of wisdom. Sh. Naveen Gupta, Ld. Special Secretary, DSLSA delivered the session on the topic “Overview of DSLSA and its activities” with the help of PPT for better understanding. Short motivational and informative videos were also showcased for the participants followed by questions answer round.

Thereafter, Sh. Mridul Gupta, Ld. Additional Secretary, DSLSA explained the purpose of Winter Internship Programme and briefed them about various visits to be undertaken by the students, Do’s and Don’ts by interns etc. during Internship period. Sh. Abhinav Pandey, Ld. Secretary (Litigation), DSLSA also interacted with the participants. Legal Services Advocates who shall be facilitating the Interns during their visit to various institutions also attended the Orientation Programme and were introduced to all the students. All the queries raised by the students were resolved by the Ld. Resource persons.
