19.08.2023: Culmination Ceremony of the Project “Shat Pratishat Kanooni Saksharta”
In the mission to generate Legal awareness/literacy at mass level, East District Legal Services Authority initiated a month long Project ‘Shat Pratishat Kanooni Saksharta’ and the target area of the same was Gazipur Village Area, East District.
The project was flagged off by the Principal District & Sessions Judge/Chairperson, East DLSA, Ms. Shail Jain from Karkardooma Court Complex on 24.07.2023.
A ‘Culmination Ceremony’ of the said month long Project was held on 19.08.2023 at MCD Community Hall, Ghazipur village from 11:00 a.m. onwards.
The Programme started with the Lighting of Lamp by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Siddharth Mridul, Judge, High Court of Delhi/Executive Chairman, DSLSA and other dignitaries. Sh. Mukesh Kumar Gupta, Member Secretary, DSLSA gave the welcome address and brief introduction of the said Project. Ms. Shail Jain, Principal District & Session Judge/Chairperson, East DLSA delivered the keynote address in the programme. Sh. Naveen Gupta, Special Secretary, DSLSA, Sh. Mridul Gupta, Additional Secretary, DSLSA, Sh. Abhinav Pandey, Secretary (Litigation), DSLSA, Ms. Saema Jain, Secretary, East DLSA and Secretaries of other DLSAs also attended the above said programme.
Under this project, the Declaration board was inaugurated by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Siddharth Mridul, Judge, High Court of Delhi/Executive Chairperson, DSLSA declaring the targeted area as the “The First Ever Shat Pratishat Kanooni Sakshar Khsetra” followed by a short movie. Thereafter, a virtual Inauguration of Legal Services Clinic also took place.
As a part of the project, a team of Para-Legal Volunteers with passion and dedication were chosen to carry out door-to-door campaigns and they visited each household, shop and building in that area to gather empirical data about the problems being faced by the persons in the area, the total number of persons covered, etc. Residents of the area were also made legally aware about their rights and about DSLSA/DLSAs’ role and activities through pamphlets and Nukkad nataks and they were also informed about 24×7 Helpline No. 1516 and the services being provided by DSLSA.
The project was strategically planned with various segments of the society like RWAs, NGOs, schools, district administration, civic authorities and police who were made part of the project. The young children who are future governing agents of the society were reached through schools with dedicated awareness sessions during the school assembly.
The Presidential address was delivered by the Hon’ble Executive Chairperson, DSLSA who assured all that DSLSA is committed to the idea of “Access to Justice to the last man” and hailed the project as pratham charan (first step) towards it.
The Programme ended with the vote of thanks by Ms. Saema Jain, Secretary, East DLSA. The Programme was also streamed live on youtube channel of DSLSA.

National Consultation
All India Network of Sex Workers (AINSW) organized a National Consultation titled “Sisterhood and Solidarity with Sex Workers: One year since the Historic Supreme Court Ruling of 2022” on 19.08.2023 at Seminar Hall 1, Vishwa Yuvak Kendra, Teen Murti Road, New Delhi.
Sh. Naveen Gupta, Special Secretary, DSLSA and Sh. Abhinav Pandey, Secretary (Litigation), DSLSA were invited as panelists in the said consultation to deliver the session on the topic “Social Inclusion, Protection and Entitlements”, alongwith Sh. Anand Grover, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India as the other panelist. Detailed consultations were held regarding issues being faced by the sex workers regarding implementation of law and guildelines of Hon’ble Supreme Court.
The participants were made aware about the Free Legal Aid services provided by this Authority and how an eligible person can seek legal advice, counseling and support.”

Inauguration of Legal Aid Clinic in association with Ayush Naturopathy Foundation
With an aim to reach out to the last man of the society to provide legal aid and awareness, North West District Legal Services Authority inaugurated a Legal Aid Clinic at Ayush Naturopathy Foundation, Rohini, Delhi on 10.08.2023.
The programme started with the inaugural of Legal Aid Clinic followed by Lighting of Lamp by the dignitaries. Sh. Mukesh Kumar Gupta, Member Secretary, DSLSA was invited as Chief Guest and Sh. Naveen Gupta, Special Secretary, DSLSA was the Guest of Honour in the said programme. Sh. Mridul Gupta, Additional Secretary, DSLSA and Sh. Abhinav Pandey, Secretary (Litigation), DSLSA also graced the programme. Sh. Manish Jain, Secretary, North West DLSA moderated the whole programme.
To disseminate the information on legal aid and awareness more effectively, a Nukkad Natak was also shown to the participants.”
Visit of Newly Recruited Judicial Officers of Manipur
“03.08.2023: Visit of Newly Recruited Judicial Officers of Manipur
On 03rd August 2023, 10 newly recruited Judicial Officers (Trainee) from Manipur visited Delhi State Legal Services Authority for understanding its functions and functioning as a part of their training in Delhi Judicial Academy, Dwarka, Delhi. Accordingly this Authority organized a Training Programme at Conference Hall, Central Office, 3rd Floor, North East Wing, Rouse Avenue District Court Complex , New Delhi from 11:00 AM onwards.
Sh. Mukesh Kumar Gupta, Member Secretary, DSLSA interacted with the Trainee Judicial Officers and delivered the session on the topic “Introduction to Legal Services Authority Act, 1987”. Sh. Naveen Gupta, Special Secretary, DSLSA delivered the session on the topic “Understanding the function & functioning of DSLSA/DLSAs.
Thereafter, Sh. Mridul Gupta, Additional Secretary, DSLSA and Sh. Abhinav Pandey, Secretary (Litigation), DSLSA delivered the session on the topics i.e. “Working of Witness Protection Scheme, 2018 and “Working of Delhi Victims’ Compensation Scheme-2018” respectively. PPT was also shown to all the participants by all the Resource Persons to elaborate on the topics. Ms. Jyoti Maheshwari, Secretary, Central-II DLSA also interacted with the visiting Trainee Judicial Officers and supervised their visit to the office of Central –II DLSA to understand the functioning of DLSAs also.”

02.08.2023: Refresher Training Programme for Para Legal Volunteers
DSLSA had organized a Refresher Para Legal Volunteer Training Programme on 2nd August, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM at Swabhiman Parisar, Shahdara, Delhi. The session was conducted for the Community PLVs who are willing to work further with the Authority.
The Programme started with the inauguration of the Information Board of DSLSA and plantation of Saplings. Sh. Mukesh Kumar Gupta, Member Secretary, DSLSA delivered the Introductory Session and briefed the participants about Do’s and Don’ts for PLVs.
Sh. Naveen Gupta, Special Secretary, DSLSA delivered the sessioin on “Re-visiting of basic laws with special emphasis on the legal rights relating to Women, Children and Sr. Citizen etc. Sh. Mridul Gupta, Additional Secretary, DSLSA and Sh. Abhinav Pandey, Secretary (Litigation), DSLSA also interacted with the participants of Refresher Training Programme of PLVs.
At the end of the Session, all the doubts and queries were resolved by the resource persons.

DSLSA alongwith Central & West DLSA and in association with Directorate of Education, GNCTD started a Legal Literacy Course and training programme for Educational and Vocational Guidance Counsellors (EVGC) as part of its Project Arushi-Umeed ki Kiran who will further reach out to children and teachers to disseminate the laws and various issues related to them.
Sh. Abhinav Pandey, Secretary (Litigation), DSLSA was invited as a Resource Person to deliver the session scheduled on 01.08.2023 under this project on the topic “Law Relating to Women : Domestic Violence Act, 2005, Law relating to prohibition of Dowry and other laws relating to Protection of Women” from 01:45 PM to 03:15 PM at Sarvodya Bal Vidyalaya, DDU Marg, Rouse Avenue, New Delhi. He also delivered one more session on the topic “Law relating to children Part-II:– POCSO Act, 2012 and Other laws relating to protection of children” from 11:45 A.M. to 01:15 P.M. All the queries raised by the participants were resolved by the Resource Person.

01.08.2023: Training Programme for Principal Magistrates of all Juvenile Justice Boards
Delhi State Legal Services Authority organized a half day Training Programme for Principal Magistrates of all Juvenile Justice Boards (JJBs) on 01st August, 2023 from 02:30 PM onwards at Conference Hall, Central Office, DSLSA.
Sh. Mukesh Kumar Gupta, Member Secretary welcomed all the participants and briefed them about the objective behind the training programme. Thereafter, various aspects in respect to the Juveniles were discussed.
Sh. Naveen Gupta, Special Secretary, DSLSA delivered the session on the topic “Competent & effective Legal Representations to Children in Conflict with Law (CCLs)”. Sh. Anant Asthana, Advocate, delivered the session on the topic “Orientation on recent Judgements of various Hon’ble High Courts on different issues under the JJ Act”.
At the end, all the queries raised by the attendees were resolved by the Resource persons.
Central & West DLSA in association with Directorate of Education, GNCTD inaugurated a Project “ARUSHI-Umeed Ki Kiran”
31st July, 2023: Central & West DLSA in association with Directorate of Education, GNCTD inaugurated a Project “ARUSHI-Umeed Ki Kiran” for educating children on their legal rights through Educational and Vocational Guidance Counsellors who play an important role in shaping children and in helping them navigate difficult situations.
The Programme started with lighting of Lamp and felicitation of Dignitaries. Sh. Himanshu Gupta, Director, Directorate of Education, GNCTD delivered the Special Address in the said Programme. Ms. Rishika Srivastava, Secretary, Central DLSA delivered the Welcome Address followed by a Power Point Presentation describing the brief outlines and expected outcome of the Project.
Sh. Mukesh Kumar Gupta, Member Secretary, DSLSA delivered the keynote address in the Inauguration programme followed by the Presidential Address by. Sh. Vinod Kumar, Principal District & Sessions Judge (West). Sh. Naveen Gupta, Special Secretary, DSLSA, Sh. Mridul Gupta, Additional Secretary, DSLSA, Sh.
