Capacity Building Programme for Legal Services Advocates of JJB
Delhi State Legal Services Authority under the aegis of NALSA and as a part of celebration of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” organized a half day Capacity Building Programme for Legal Services Advocates on the panel of Juvenile Justice Boards (JJBs) on 02.06.2023 at Conference Hall, Central Office, DSLSA, Rouse Avenue District Court Complex.
Sh. Mridul Gupta, Additional Secretary, DSLSA welcomed all the participants and told them about the objective behind this training programme.
Ms. Tanvi Khurana, Principal Magistrate, JJB- V delivered first session on the topic “Salient features of Guidelines for Conducting Preliminary Assessment under section 15 of Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 issued by DCPCR in pursuance to the directions of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in the matter titled Barun Chandra Thakur Vs Master Bholu and another and Crl. Appeal 950/2022”. The topic was elaborated with the help of PPT.
Thereafter, Ms. Vijeta Singh Rawat, Additional District & Sessions Judge, Patiala House Courts, New Delhi delivered the session on the topic “Suggestibility & Tutoring of Child Witness”.
All the queries raised by the participants were resolved by the respective resource persons.

Delhi State Legal Services Authority organized Capacity Building Programme for Legal Services Advocates on the panel of Child Welfare Committee (CWCs I-X) on 1st June, 2023 from 03:00 pm onwards at Conference Hall, Central Office, DSLSA, Rouse Avenue District Court Complex, New Delhi.
Sh. Mridul Gupta, Additional Secretary briefed all the participants about the objective behind this training and role of LSAs in carrying out their duties.
Sh. Sudhir Kumar Sirohi, Special Judge, NDPS/Additional Sessions Judge, Patiala House Courts, New Delhi delivered the session on the topic “The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 with special reference to Provisions for grant of Interim and Final Compensation”. During the session all the queries raised by the participants were resolved by the resource person.

Sansad TV organized a Programme “Aapka Kanoon” to make the viewers aware abouth the “Free Legal Aid Services” provided by Delhi State Legal Services Authority which was telecast across the nation on 29.05.2023.
Sh. Mukesh Kumar Gupta, Member Secretary, DSLSA was invited to apprise about the Free Legal Aid Services provided by this Authority. He explained about provisions of Free Legal Aid as envisaged in Legal Services Authority Act, 1987and 24*7 helpline number 1516 of this Authority. The services provided under other areas of DSLSA i.e. Lok Adalats, Legal Literacy and Victims Compensation Scheme, 2018 were also deliberated upon and discussed . He also apprised as to how to reach DSLSA for Free Legal Aid Services. Sh. Abhijeet Mishra, Advocate, Hon’ble Supreme Court of India was also invited by Sansad TV in the said Programme.

24.05.2023: Third Day of 3 Days Para Legal Volunteer Training for the students of Vivekanand Institute of Professional Studies
On Third day of PLV Training Programme i.e. on 24th May, 2023, Ms. Saema Jain, Secretary, East DLSA took the first session on “Overview of Matrimonial Laws including Section 498AIPC, Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act 2005 and Section 125 Cr. P.C”.
Sh. Vinik Jain, the then Secretary North East DLSA, was the second resource person of the day and he explained the topic “Overview of Laws relating to Senior Citizens, Transgenders and Schedule Castes & Schedule Tribes”.
Ms. Helly Fur Kaur, the then Secretary, New Delhi DLSA was the third resource person of the day and she spoke upon “Overview of Labour Laws”.
The last session of the PLV Training was delivered by Sh. Animesh Kumar, the then Secretary, South DLSA on the topic “ADR Mechanisms: Lok Adalat, Mediation”.
After every session, all the queries raised by the participants were resolved by the Resource persons.”

North West DLSA organized a “Talk Show” on “Free Legal Aid” on 24.05.2023 and the same was aired Live on All India Radio FM 102.06 from 01:05pm onwards.
Sh. Mukesh Kumar Gupta, Member Secretary, DSLSA was invited for a Live interview. He informed all the listeners about provisions of free legal aid as envisaged in Legal Services Authority Act, 1987and 24*7 helpline number 1516 of this Authority. He also addressed all the queries raised by the listeners on call. Success story of New Delhi DLSA was also aired in the said programme.

The Academy for Smart Policing (ASP)/Delhi Police Academy, Chanakyapuri organized one day Workshop on “Sensitization and Training Programme on Offences under POCSO Act & Provisions of Delhi Victim Compensation Scheme” on 23.05.2023 for the rank of DCPs/Addl. DCPs and ACs P.
Ms. Harshita Mishra, Secretary, (Litigation), DSLSA was nominated as the resource person on 23.05.2023 and she delivered the Session on the topic “Delhi Victims Compensation Scheme, 2018. Delhi Witness Protection Scheme, 2018. Guidelines issued by Hon’ble Delhi High Court in W.P. (C) No. 8889 of 2011 in Court on its Own Motion v/s Dept. of Women & Child Development & Ors. Directions to Police”. She briefed the topic to the participants and also resolved the queries raised by them.

On Second day of PLV Training Programme i.e. on 23rd May, 2023, Sh. Himanshu Sehloth, the then Secretary, North DLSA took the first session on“Schemes of NALSA and DSLSA with special emphasis on Delhi Victims’ Compensation Scheme-2018, Scheme for Empanelment of Para Legal Volunteers and their Deployment in Police Stations in Delhi for cases pertaining to Missing Children and other offences against children”. The session was made more interactive with the aid of PPT.
Sh. Sushant Changotra, the then Special Secretary, DSLSA was the second resource person of this day and he explained the topic “Laws for Protection of Children with Special emphasis on Cyber Crimes”. The topic was elaborated with the help of PPT.
Thereafter, third session was delivered by Sh. Pranat Kumar Joshi, the then Secretary, Shahdara DLSA. He briefed the participants about “Human Rights, Basis Structure of the Constitution of India, Fundamental Rights and Fundamental Duties of Citizens”. PPT was also displayed.
The last session of the day was taken by Sh. Lalit Kumar, the then Secretary Central-II DLSA. He explained the topic “Overview of Right to Information Act, 2005” to the Participants.
After every session, all the queries raised by the participants were resolved by the Resource persons.
