Orientation Session of NALSA Interns on 08.09.2025

The Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA), Rouse Avenue, organized first half-day orientation session for NALSA interns on 8th September 2025 at the Conference Hall, 3rd Floor, Rouse Avenue Court, New Delhi. A total of 19 students attended the session.

The programme was graced by Ms. Tanvi Khurana, Ld. Special Secretary, DSLSA, Sh. Mridul Gupta, Ld. Additional Secretary, DSLSA, and Sh. Abhinav Pandey, Ld. Secretary (Litigation), DSLSA who interacted with the interns and encouraged them to learn from the exposure. The dignitaries provided an overview of the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, explained the functions of DSLSA, and discussed the Delhi Victim Compensation Scheme, 2018. The session was highly interactive, as students asked several questions which were answered in detail by the Ld. Presiding Officers.
Further, after the orientation, the interns visited different wings of DSLSA, i.e. IT Wing, ADR Wing, Establishment Wing, Legal Aid Wing and Legal Literacy Wing, where the superintendents and in-charge explained the functioning of their respective wings. They also visited the office of Central-II, RADCC, New Delhi, where they gained practical exposure to the legal aid services.

The NALSA interns have also been attached in two Groups (Group-1 and Group-2) to the DLSAs, namely South DLSA and South East DLSA w.e.f. 08.09.2025 to 18.09.2025. During their attachment, the interns have been scheduled to visit various offices and institutions to observe their functioning. These include the Remand Courts, LADCS office, Sakhi One Stop Center, Counselor’s office, Jail, District Magistrate (DM) Office, concerned Police Station, Juvenile Justice Board (JJB), Permanent Lok Adalat (ADR Wing), and CAW Cell. The visits aim to provide the interns with practical exposure to the working of different wings and units associated with the legal aid services and justice delivery system.
